If you spent every sunny minute outside this summer, you may find when you finally come indoors that it's all a bit dreary/chaotic and clearly not as much fun as having tea in the garden or going for a bike ride under a wow blue sky. The only thing for it is to make something new - or, as I found today- to make something feel new. If you get a chance to embrace tidying and being creative at the same time - it's free and will make you love where you live again.
Here's the BEFORE: a place to chuck keys and anything to do with our new bikes, a graveyard for orchids - a dreary welcome as you come in the front door.
A brighter hello! The wooden tray should corral keys and sunglasses. The greenery looks fresh and happy.
And don't stop there. O my goodness, the THINGS I found! My favourite find was the long lost infra red temperature sensor gun thing - we bought it to check the house for draughts and cold spots last winter. Apparently, according to Amazon, we weren't the only ones who also measured the temperature of the dog and the inside of the fridge and ourselves.
Getting ready for coming indoors. One chest of drawers at a time.
That's the plan.
